THE STORY

Ari gave them the name.

Ari calls these “The Bobbitt Pancakes,” and the family twist is the maple syrup going directly into the batter with vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

That extra liquid can loosen the mix, so more Bisquick is added by feel until the batter is thick but pourable. The result stays simple, familiar, and distinctly theirs.

Method

  1. Mix base.Whisk Bisquick, milk, and eggs just until combined.
  2. Add the twist.Stir in maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Adjust.Add Bisquick as needed until thick but pourable.
  4. Cook.Pour slightly less than ¼ cup per pancake onto a hot greased griddle.
  5. Flip. When edges set and bubbles form, flip and cook until golden.
  6. Serve.Add butter, maple syrup, and favorite breakfast sides.
Blueberries, chocolate chips, or sliced bananas all work. Adjust thickness after adding the maple syrup, not before.
